Nazier
Roy
Good solid advice! Thanks for linking up with other people to augment your already extensive information.
Vic
Thanks for all the information Dr. K — it’s always greatly appreciated
Ratatouille! A big pot of veggie stew. Made up fresh each week. Great with some non fat cottage cheese stirred in. On the side of some grilled chicken or thin sliced london broil. A nice variety from cold veggie salad. Has it always been around my kitchen? No. Are there there differences since it has? Absolutely!.
Thanks, Kareem. Always good stuff
Jessica
I LOVE all the information you supply us! Question on the fiber… I know fruits and vegetables are an excellent source of fiber, but what about the fiber cereal and bars? Are those as effective? Also, you mentioned that there is a difference in single ingredient items vs. multi ingredient items. I am not sure what is better. Thanks so much for all the info!!!
Franz
Can hardly wait for tomorrow’s heart rate spiker!
Shelley
Thanks Kareem! You have taught me that planning is the key. I am planning my workouts ahead of time and now I am planning my meals. Tonight I cut up my veggies and all my ingredients for tomorrow’s meals are prepared and ready to go. It is so much easier to eat “clean” when I turn cooking into ‘fast food’. I am looking forward to your video tomorrow.
Hector
Kareem
As always thanks for the information. It is all the information you accumilate that gives you the power to succeed.
Knowledge is power.
Power leads to success.
Thanks

Great advice. Keep the tips coming.

Thanks for the tips and timely reminders. Donna
Lucy
Hi Kareem,
Again another great delivery on common sense. Knowing the theory isn’t enough, it also comes down to practice. Planning and preparation are definitely areas where I can improve. Thanks again.
Lucy
Brad
Dr. K,
Thanks for the video…awesome information. I’ve been eating baby carrots since the audio interview you did with Joel on April 2nd. The only thing missing from this video is your superman cape. Well, it’s time to go eat some more fiber and cleanse my colon so my parasympathetic system is in tip top condition to kickin after I complete DEFL workout 3B tomorrow
Looking forward to your next update.
Brad
Rylee Jo
Love it! Keep it coming!
Lee
Thanks Dr.K!
Dave
Every little bit helps. Keep it coming.
Chris
Thank you, Dr. K, for your interesting presentations of simple truths. I love your suggestion for eating baby carrots to increase fiber intake. They are one of my very favorite foods!!! I need to know ways to really increase fiber as my system seems to need a lot more fiber than the average. I look forward to all the great information you so willingly share with us.
Great info to pass along to my clients and keep them on the track to the body fat loss they desire.
Thanks Dr K

Hey Dr. K,
Another slam-dunk… Keep those tips coming and Thank-You for keeping us on track.

nutrition….. small changes… plan it out….ok… got it….now to implement. thx.
J.M.
This is great info. I can definitely relate to those feelings of frustration with not seeing the results I want in terms of fat loss, which makes me think it comes back to my dietary habits. I’m trying to eat more “single ingredient” items and get rid of the over-processed foods. Thanks for the advice!
Salvador
My nutricionist had told me that exact same thing, “water improves and increases metabolism” but i didnt belevie it, maybe that little change its what i’m lookin for
I think I first heard this single ingredient advice from Scott Colby at Transformation Domination Live – it keeps things simple, and it’s smart eating.
hehe… I liked that superman cape comment, Brad – that would’ve been an awesome addition (with a glow stick possibly) – maybe I should run these video ideas by you next time first? hehe…
Don’t forget to kill it on 3B – and let us know how it went!
You’re right Lucy – and you’re very welcome. Practice the common sense stuff first – none of this is rocket science – your body would rather be in shape.
very generous suggestion you made up here Rob – thanks for sharing – great idea and nice choice!
It’s true – these things make big changes… but only require small amounts of forward thinking – you’re very welcome, Rob – thanks for helping out up here too!
You rock Tanya! Nice job racing up here tonight – I appreciate you, and we’re looking forward to helping you burn fat at record speed.
Brian
As always great info, I\\\’m sure I would have better results if I ate better balanced meals.
Per
Thanks for all the great content. Am following the program and hopefully I’ll look like Superman soon enough. (Doing the dumbbell uppercuts from week 5A in a sleeveless training shirt sure does build the ego…)
Christine
Hello Dr. K! Thanks for some great info. Recently, I have been using my blender a lot by pureeing carrots and cauliflowers. Then I mix them up with unsweetened cocoa powder and protein powder. I don’t taste the carrots and cauliflower at all, I enjoy my shake, and I’m getting good carbs in my body. This is what I drink in the mornings, especially when I’m on a rush to get to work. This wasn’t my idea though. I got it from a cookbook written by Jessica Seinfeld on how to put in vegetable servings in food. I’ve also been hydrating myself and I have to say that my camel pack is with me all the time. I hope I’m on the right track. I really want to experience a “match made in heaven” when it comes to diet and exercise. Thanks again for a fresh look on building a leaner body.
Paula
Once again, great information. The picture is really starting to become clear. I still struggle abit with the nutrition what with being raw, but you are really putting things in prospective. Thank you once again.
Nick
Good info Dr. K. Thanks for sharing.
Seth
Thanks for the advice. Would adding soluble fiber (e.g. glucomanan) help?
Peter
Outstanding info. Fibre and water are definitely the most underrated part of any diet. Dr K shows the way.
Russ
keep up the good work
Rose
Great information.
You are giving us so much, so quickly, and in such concentrated packages that it’s a challenge to sort out exactly what is relevant for me at the stage where I am! The transcripts are important because of this, one can look at them and think about how the pieces fit together.
Thanks for all the work you are doing, and I hope you’re getting some downtime now and then!
All the best!
Abha
Good information. Thanks!
Robert
Dr K ….
You are doing things the right way. Very refreshing to see this, in an internet of excessive information. My results so far have been outstanding.
Adrian
Please would you explain how a 4:7:9 nutrition combination fits in with Joel’s Cheat Your Way Thin programme, preferably via a separate presentation?
Danavir
Thanks Dr.Kareem! Your video was great, like always! I totally agree with everything you said in this video. It makes perfect sense and thank you for putting it so simply put!
Thanks again for such a great video
Darryl
lol, You and Joel are both beasts bro. keep it up
Steve
Thanks again. Keep the Good info coming, It can only helps us all to be Healthier in a world that seems to be going in the opposite direction.
Aron
You never stop do you?
Jack
Thanks! The information you provide is far and beyond what is expected and really valued.
Meredith
Dr. K offering up some great information, once again. Thanks so much for all of your educated and informative videos that you pass along passionately and freely! Love the PA backdrop, I feel like I am home.
Judy
Dr. K,
Another great video. I thing I think is important if you can\’t get organic in the grocery use the Farmer\’s Markets for local foods. Many of them are open year round. I think this would be a better choice since many of our organic foods come from other countries that might not have the standards we do in the USA.
Also you would be helping the farmers.
I know exercise is extremely important but I have always felt nutrition was 85 to 90 % of fat loss equation. Thanks again for all the tips. Looking forward to tomorrow\’s video.
Happy Day To All, Judy
Great vid Dr K. Thanks for such great info. This keeps the motivation and inspiriation pumping. I love the environment too. Those ducks are having fun.
SJS
Nutrition is the key – like three legs on a stool – if one is missing or shorter than the other legs – guess what.. thanks.
Nic P
I used to eat about 4k calories a day to gain serious mass with Vince DelMonte NNMB. I was eating A LOT of fiber to cleanse my system. Great advice right there!
C
Interesting. Thanks.
Lori
Thank for the great information.
Scott
Once again, some great info Dr. K! Now I just need to work on putting all the bits together.
Daniel
Great info Dr. K – you are awesome!
Bev
Good advice – glad to hear the message getting out there. Like the stuff about parasympathetic and sympathetic – thanks for helping me understand it a bit more
Mitch
Great video. I do not like the word \"diet\". But I like the idea of planning out your meals for the entire week. This might be harder than doing an intense exercise program, but it is key to getting great results. I need to convince myself that meal planning is the next major focus of the program.
Kim
I am so thankful that you guys are giving us so much information to help us reach our goals!!
Pamela
Great info. Thanks so much for all you are giving in this program!
You made a great point about the farmer’s markets – I shop in farmer’s markets near me all the time!
As for the nutrition being 85-90% – this is really only true for a short while – without exercise, plateau is almost guaranteed… so is rebound weight gain. They truly are equal and both important.
that’s the mission, Steve – you down to help me spread the word?
Alisa
Dr. K,
Good information. What would be extremely helpful to those of us out here who have little time to worry about the food we put into our mouths is examples. Please, please tell us some examples of meals that have the 4/7/9 ratio you talk about. Remember you have some women out here working this program. We want to be come lean and muscular and not bulky.
Glad to hear it Robert – thanks for the input and keep up the great work!
Meshel
Keep it coming!
Pamela
Thanks. It’s always helpful to get taken back to basics, and your pep talks are motivating, which I seriously need!
Oak
Couldn’t see today’s video, showing an error. Don’t know if it’s my machine or the website…I’ll check back later…Still interested in the HR spikers though…and the transcript.
Can you post a link to the ‘Digestive Exercise’ article you mention?
Thanks
Sharon
Just like Oak,I couldn\\\’t open the video. Maybe you need to send it again..later
Rick
Thank you Dr. K I like all your videos, all are packed with great information, this one is no exception, I really like your enthusiasm and energy. You are the perfect coach!

Dr. K.,

Great advice as always!
Susan
Dr K
Great info! I have struggled with my weight since I turned 40. I was still working out and eating the same but now was gaining a little weight and it wasn’t muscle. You have given me some good ideas to try!
Thanks Kareem, good to be reminded that failure is Not an option! After more than 30 years with a vegetarian diet I am ok with fibre, but the proportions of fat/protein/carbs always needs work.
Ryan
Hey Dr. K,
What you say about drinking a lot of water is really true!! I have been walking around school for a couple of months now with a jug of water to sip on all day, and my metabolism is faster, it helps me lose BF, my digestive system is improved, etc….. Thanks for taking your time to help us out…… greetings from Puerto Rico, Ryan
Thanks Dr K. Get the junk out, eat well and lose the fat. Great message.
Max
Great reminder to concentrate on the big picture versus obsess over minutiae.
Kent
Really liked the information.
Steve
Great information, thanks again!
sarah
Where’s a link to the transcript? I prefer reading to listening to videos because with the video/audio I get distracted by other things (reading, msn, whatever).
Doug Morrow
Hi Dr. K.:
I’ve always heard “you can’t outwork a bad diet” and it has always made sense to me .. delighted I’m not the only one.
However, I am confused about water .. yes, it is great and necessary to stay hydrated ,, but doesn’t water with meals dilute digestive enzymes (which are actually very wonderful things to have)?
I think you’re confusing hydration and super-hydration. People have become obsessive about drinking water and many have taken it to an extreme. Just follow my recommendations and you won’t have to worry about drowning your digestive enzymes – great question!
I’m glad this jived with you Steve – be sure to keep us posted
Travis
This couldn’t be any more true. Your nutritional component has to be in check with your workout component and vice-versa if you want to see good results.
Jeanne
As always, great information and every little thing adds up to a great success.
Don
great stuff thanks
Wayne
Thanks Dr. K.
This has been so true in my life. I have been sabotaging my work in the gym with my diet. But now I am ready to turn mediocre results into great resulst. Thanks again for all your help and great information!

Petra
Martha
Great, encouraging information as always Dr. K! Thank you!
Sharon
Your body would rather be in shape… that’s the best and simplest motivation I’ve heard. It will help me keep up with all the great but detailed information you’re putting out AND keep moving. I’m going to put in on my fridge, mirror etc. Thanks for taking the time to answer all these replies.
Great advice! Thanks for the post will be definately reading the rest of what you offer!

Dawn
Thanks for keeping it real and attainable for the average person. I wish my friends would follow your advice and get out of their “S.A.D.” mindsets. Looking forward to the minisets.
Steve
Hi Dr. K,
Your info and all are great! Thanks for taking all the time you do to share everything with us.
Do you have a link to the article you mentioned in this video about the “digestive exercises” ? I would like to read/know about that.
Keep up the awesome work!
Cindy
Thanks for the great info. I especially loved that you summarised the main points at the end as i get so focused on listening i tend to forget what you previously said, so i found it very helpful. Look forward to reading the transcript.
Léa
great stuff ! maybe if we all stop buy the junk food they’ll stop making it and sell us real food again. info like yours can help a lot to reverse the damage done by years of poor eating habits.
thanks a million, keep it coming.

Thanks Dr K – good solid advice and love the energy you give.
Stewart
Thank you. I continue to receive knowledge that will help me on this journey.
Anders
As always, good information and a positive energy we all could need!
Caleb
Dr. K, I love your enthusiasm and the way you focus attention on deceptively “basic” dietary habits. Whole foods are powerful indeed!
When it comes to water, I learned while studying nutrition that there is a field of thought that it is better not to drink during a meal, as it dilutes stomach acid. I try to drink a glass of water before a meal to refresh myself and make overeating less likely. Do you have any other thoughts on this?
Wayne
Thanks Dr. K.
You are leaving no stone unturned! Love the information and support. Keep it coming.
Patty S
Thanks for the info, Dr K!
Thea
Hi there my name is Thea
I started taking better care of myself about a month ago, i must say weight loss is slow but my mindset is in the right place for the first time in years, i started on ‘n 1500 cal intake a day and try and do 30 min of exercise a day, must say i feel better, i am also trying to get all of the three food groups in my daily intake, will i loose weight when i lower my intake to 1500 i am overweight by about 35 kg’s. And thanks for showing me this it helps me to think i am on a right path.
Great video and great information. I agree that keeping your digestive system balanced is one one the main keys to belly fat loss. I’ve been integrating Kale into my diet, which I found out is very inexpensive and one of the main super foods for high fiber intake. I feel great after I drink this; usually for lunch as I’m on the run. I usually blend some into some fruit and drink as a smoothie and then make sure I add a little protein on the side like a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or a couple oz of meat. Always satisfying and filling too. Do you have any other food tips for quick meals? I also started taking a product that has NuFlora (a proprietary prebiotic dextrin fiber) and have noticed the bloating in my waist area diminish remarkably. Any thought or comments on this?
Maria
Dr. K, thank you for the information. I just cleaned out my fridge and will shop for all healthy nutrtious foods to fuel my body for those great workouts of yours.
MARY COMPTON
THIS HAS BEEN SO GREAT. I am 54 years old and have been having trouble for several years with weight and pain. I already am having results and love this program. Thank you.

Hi Kareem,
You sure talk really fast! Love the duck swimming behind you! Maybe he is having his power workout too… haha!
Single ingredient, I have heard that before but seems hard to do. I mean eat carbs only, no meat or veg. Or eat just veg. How long before I can eat another single ingredient?
Thanks,
Ivonne
Frank A
Hey Dr K,
Always good stuff you share. We go to a farmers’ market here and we belong to a Co-op. Good food and there is the temptation of the fine baked goods they sell!!! hehe
Thanks for the reminder of affirmations and motivation, especially in an office environment when it is sooooooooo easy to get stressed. I do my best to breathe deep and remember that the only thing I can control is my perception of the situation.
Thanks
Mandy
Thanks for the info, Dr. K!

Good information! I have been following Isabel de los Rios for a while now, and I feel so much better eating healthy foods and doing the high intensity exercises instead of the 50 minutes on the elliptical trainer at the gym.

I am having trouble getting a response from the help desk at doubleedgedfatloss.com regarding some broken links.
I really appreciated his words of advice on how to use my parasympathetic and sympathetic systems more efficiently. Help them work together and not against each other.
Glenn
Thanks for the information and especially for the motivation. Just one thing you recommend-I understand baby carrots for fiber but I have read those are cut and soaked in bleach. Better to look for other sources of fiber I think.
Stacia
Dr K your blogs are always informative thank you for continuing to share your knowledge

This is great stuff and very good info. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us . I really admire your work .
Kathryn
Hey, Dr. K. Good topic and great reinforcement of common sense approach to what’s important.
I too would like to understand what you meant by multi-ingredient items. Do you mean to eat more variety each day or is there something else to what you meant?
Thanks!
Emmanuel
Your invaluable posts have helped me shed more than 10 kg. My BMI is now within the normal range. The ideas in the video will be of great use! Thanks.
Tony!
Interesting….. would like to have some tips on what EXACT foods to eat though..!

Hi Dr K
Thanks for yet another great video with lots of useful info
I have been doing the 5 day fatloss and hr spiker mimisets for about 3 weeks now, though I can feel my body getting stronger especially my stomach muscles which I thought no longer existed, my endurance levels have increased and am doing up to 3 sets per set everyday, I still am not losing weight, in fact I have gained a kilo or two though I watch what I eat. Is there something I am doing wrong or not doing?
Please advise
alia
Hey, Dr. K!

Thanks Dr K for the steady flow of great info. I am still confused about when/what to eat before/after exercise. I am generally a morning exerciser and don’t like too much beforehand, especially if I’m swimming.

I am looking forward to hitting “this” hard in the ways you have described. I have lost 40 lbs in the past year but have found myself in the dreaded “plateau” phase. Losing the “belly fat” is definitely the hardest part of the mission. Thanks for your advice and kindness as to help without all the added costs and nonsense.
Blessings,
Scott

TINA / AKA PIGGY DOG
Thank You Dr. K
I found all of it very informative, but what got my attention most of all, was about the water, I have a hard time taking in a lot of water, and when I do I usually do it in large amounts several times a day, and I notice difference to the better, but the comment of drinking a full glass before the meal and one during the meal and plain drinking through out the day, is very logical to me for optimizing my system( my body’s functions ) and I know my body will Thank You even more.
TINA / PIGGY DOG
Carol Lynn
Thanks, Dr. K. My husband & I eat dinner out almost every night, but after seeing this video, I’m going to plan our meals for the next week or so and see how it goes. I haven’t done that for a long time.

Thanks for the great info! Love the water strategy. It seems like drinking water would be so simple, but I usually get to the end of the day and realize I haven’t drank enough. I’m going to try your suggestion.

Thanks. Will you please also speak to the % balance between complex and simple carbs.

That was an interesting video, gave me some easy things to think about. I would like to better understand your “optimal” percentage/relative grams of fat, carbs, protein per meal that you threw out towards the end. Lots of diets (including Joel Marion) talk about mixing protein and carbs, OR protein and fats but not so much all three in every meal. Looking forward to receiving the phone call transcript and the heartrate spike supersets.

Looking forward to even more from Dr. K.
